Mark A. Moore, Ph.D.

    Dr. Moore received a B.A. degree in Science and Philosophy from Florida Atlantic University in 1966. He received a Ph.D. in Philosophy with an emphasis on Value Theory and Logic from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 1973. Moore was an NDEA Fellow. From 1973 to 1979, Moore was a tenured Professor of Philosophy at Salisbury State University in Maryland. 

    Currently, Dr. Moore is Chairman of Atlantic Alpha Strategies, LLC; an absolute return hedge fund; and serves as CEO of SVM Capital LLC, a joint venture between Atlantic Alpha Strategies and Health Discovery Corporation, Inc. From 1979 to May 1984, Dr. Moore managed Moore & Associates, a research and consulting firm dedicated to development of specialized logic structures for value decisions in financial markets. Included among Moore & Associates' activities was the management of an options fund with Alex, Brown & Sons Inc. In May 1984, Moore joined Atlantic Associates, Inc. in Greenwich, CT. as a Vice President and Director of Research.

    In 1987, Dr. Moore co-founded with Marshall Graham Codeworks Corporation in Washington, DC. Codeworks was a venture capital startup that developed a computerized search process of all national and local building codes. Moore was responsible for the creation of the data base and search logic. Codeworks was sold in 1988.

    In 1988, Dr. Moore co-founded Trendlogic Associates, Inc., a registered Commodity Trading Advisor. Trendlogic Associates, Inc. is located in Greenwich, CT. Dr. Moore sold Trendlogic Associates in June 1991, and joined Millennium Partners, L.P.; an investment limited partnership, as General Partner. Millennium Partners is a large international hedge fund with offices in lower Manhattan. Dr. Moore retired from active money management in 1992. Dr. Moore and his wife Inge Svensson Moore reside in Savannah, GA.

     In addition to his business activities, Dr. Moore actively publishes in the field of value based logic systems and serves on various boards. These boards include the Board of Visitors of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville; the Trust Board of Bethesda Boys Home (recently retired) where he directed 20 million in investments; Treasurer and Chairman of Memorial Health University Hospital Foundation where he currently directs 10 million in investments; Investment Committee and Finance Committee of Memorial Health University Hospital where he directs 120 million in investments; Board of Advisors of the Anderson Cancer Institute; and Sedgwick Street Family Office where he directed 200 million in investments (recently retired); Board of Directors, Memorial Health University.
