AUDIO TAPES

A large number of audiotapes made by Robert S. Hartman exist in the archives in the Special Collections Library at The University of Tennessee, Knoxville. These are all obsolete and currently unusable spool reel tapes. The Robert S. Hartman Institute is currently having them all recopied onto contemporary technology digital CDs. At present, all tapes below are available at the Library on CDs.

3219 – Hartman on Profit Sharing: Speech at Eastern New Mexico University

3220 – Radio broadcast over XEL, Mexico: 15 minutes of music, then radio interview with Dr. Hartman

3221 – Technically Speaking: 1st track: 12 minutes of interview at Lamar Tech with Dr. Hartman; 2nd track: unrelated, possibly a court testimony by someone other than Hartman.

3222 – Dr. John Davis: A lecture by Dr. Davis on Hartman’s theory which ends with music; possibly a radio broadcast.

3223 – Emon Seminar: Lecture by Dr. Hartman for first 30 minutes (poor audio quality); discussion for next 10 minutes (good audio quality); 6 minutes of indecipherable conversation–no Hartman, not recorded on CD.

3224 – Galbreth, (2 tapes): Lecture by Hartman; (uncertain connection with Galbreth;) poor audio quality.

3225 – R. Hartman Coop. League, Chicago (2 tapes): Lecture by Hartman in two parts

3226 – Hartman (2 tapes): Lecture by Hartman at MIT

3227 – Theory of ‘Value Systems’ (3 tapes): Lectures by Hartman; some discussion at end;

3228 – NH Green Meadows (3 tapes): Lectures by Hartman; poor quality in places

3229 – Prof. Bowditch (2 tapes): Tape 1, A board meeting? Tape 2, No Hartman; various speakers; topics include the Korean conflict. Poor audio quality.

2/17/60 Lecture by Dr. Glenn Olds; involves quote from H.G. Wells: “Civilization is education’s race with disaster.” The inadequacy of present quality of education. Discussion of picture of man barefoot, alone, hungering for security; nothing solid to stand on; hunger for meaning, status, worth; search for completion in a community of love.
