A campaign to give the Journal of Formal Axiology the reach it has always deserved

For Fall 2026, and in honor of the 50th anniversary of the annual conference, the board has started a new initiative: “The Good, Recorded." Robert Hartman spent his life asking one question: what is good? Seventeen volumes of research have tried to answer it. When you search “value theory,” very little comes up.

THe Problem

Search Google Scholar or a university library database for value theory or formal axiology, and the JFA won’t turn up. A scholar has to know the Journal by name to find it at all

THe campaign

We're moving the Journal onto the system 44,000 other journals already use.

Once all seventeen volumes are properly catalogued and registered with the databases scholars search, a researcher looking into ethics, values, or organizational psychology will actually find this work — the same way they'd find any other major journal in the field.

Your gift moves the archive, tags every article, and registers the Journal with the databases scholars actually use.
